Knowing the Score

General entry information


Entries into the Music Design Awards must be submitted online. Your written entry must be no more than 1,500 words in English (12 point type, single line spacing) saved in PDF format (5MB maximum file size), uploaded from your desktop to the Music Design Awards website. All entries should be uploaded following the template sections listed below. The Judges will automatically vote lower any entries exceeding the word count. Please adhere to these basic rules of entry, together with any other specific criteria described below.


Template guide


Your URL and your written entry are the basis on which each entry will be voted for by the judges and shortlisted. The two pages should show how your website met its aims, employed innovative techniques, was enjoyed by users, and delivered visitors, satisfaction and a return on investment. At the beginning of your two pages the following information must be listed:

  • URL
  • Category entered
  • Title of website
  • Project name (brand, client, promoter, etc)
  • Entering company


Within your submission you must use the following as sub-headings under which you clearly provide your explanation for the judges.

  • Aims for project
  • Strategy/extent of use
  • Concept originated
  • Creative/innovative ideas employed
  • Completed project (photographic eveidence)
  • Outcome, including testemonials, feedback or hard data


Failure to include these details may result in your project being marked down by the Judging Panel.


Support material


Entries for the Music Design Awards must be submitted online.

The PDF file you upload may be all the support you need. But these are Awards about design, so you may well wish to provide additional support material. If so, please provide a URL to a supporting micro site in your submission paper (or YouTube or vimeo links for motion picture material), where your supporrting images or motion picture files can be seen by the judges.

The judges will want to feel fully informed about your project, so please include whatever you feel is appropriate and relevant for your entry. If an entry is entered into more than one category, please indicate this clearly. Please remember to remind the judges of the support material micro site URL (or YouTube or vimeo links), each time you enter.


Disqualifications


Any website that breaks national or international laws or offends public, religious, national or gender-specific sensitivities, or that flouts spamming rules will be disqualified. If an entry is disqualified for any reason the entry fees will not be refunded. Student entries will be disqualified if the correct information about their college or course leader is omitted.
